I'm meeting with Author John Tucker and the lead character in his newest book, Terpischore. She is one of the nine Muses in Greek literature, very beautiful, and is known for being the Muse of the Dance.

So, how did you two meet and how long ago was it?

John - Well, I was looking to write a romantic comedy in a paranormal vein. I wanted a hybrid of Bewitched, Melrose Place, and How I Met Your Mother.

Terpischore - And I whispered in his ear, gave him the plot, and here we are.

John - Three years ago I worked on a scripted series simply called Bemused. I wrote 34 episodes, grew tired with it, and began to write novels and short stories.

Terpischore - I advised the butthead into making it a series of novels instead, and changed the name to Terpsichore in Love because...duh...I'm clearly the star.

What was your first impression of each other?

John - I thought Terpsichore was beautiful, bubbly, and very intelligent.

Terpischore - I know for a fact John's a village idiot. I mean, come on, look at him.

So, John, what does Terpischore do that annoys you the most?

John - She wants to be in every scene, berates me into putting her in the best light imaginable, and never says a word of gratitude.

Terpischore, if you could say just one thing to John, what would it be?

He's clueless. I whisper advice for every scene in his ears and makes sure he doesn't get writers block. If it wasn't for me, he'd probably have Clio or Urania for his main character. And that would be gnarly.  Love me, love my advice

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened between you two?

Terpsichore - OhmiFather, I can't believe how he wrote the first real love scene between me and Dan Gordon, my sweetie. I wanted it to be a little dirty, but nooooooo. He makes it provocative, emotional, and totally wimpy. Like I'd ever dance around in a sheet singing the words to Xanadu. I do it naked...so there.

John - Next question, please.

John, what do you feel the worst about doing to Terpischore?

Honestly, I haven't written anything bad about her. She does it all to herself. Terpsichore has a bit of a temper and a jealous streak. All her sisters told me this before I started writing. She thinks she's perfect...and I'll leave it at that.

Do you think you two will meet again in the future?

Terpsichore - Kinda sorta...the Bemused and Bedeviled series, starring me, will be a total of six books. So I'm stuck writing all his stuff for the next year or so.

John - A need a Siren to kill me - like right now.

BLURB

The nine traditional Greek Muses, who are now living on Earth, find their everyday lives disrupted by the appearance of a mysterious mortal who is developing powers beyond human capabilities. After Dan Gordon falls in love with Terpischore, he finds himself in the midst of a power struggle between the forces of Heaven and the denizens of Hades – with the winner claiming his heart and soul.

Bemused and Bedeviled takes you into the drama-filled lives of the nine sisters, headed up by the impetuous Terpischore, oversexed Melpomene, irascible Calliope, and the impossibly cheerful Euterpe. On the dark side, Lucifer and his three Sirens – the level-headed Calypso, wrathful Celestia, and the effervescent Chanteuse – deal with their own darker issues. The representatives of good and evil vie for Dan’s loyalty and allegiance, despite family issues that threaten to rip the very fabric of the universe apart.

He seems to be becoming a jack of all genres with his first novel under the GMTA banner – Terpischore in Love (Bemused and Bedeviled Book One) a romantic comedy filled with mythological characters interacting with contemporary mortals.

A little birdie told me today is John's birthday!! Happy birthday, John! I hope it's a great one!
